Real Madrid visit Atalanta in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16. Los Blancos still are lacking some serious depth and their defensive line will be far from ideal against a strong offensive side like Atalanta.

Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois, Vazquez, Varane, Nacho, Mendy, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Asensio, Vinicius, Mariano.

Atalanta predicted XI: Golini, Toloi, Romero, Djimsiti, Maehle, Roon, Freuler, Gosens, Ilicic, Muriel, Zapata.

This is a monumental game for Real Madrid, who have struggled in La Liga so far this season. Los Blancos have gained some confidence and momentum lately but they are still waiting for key players like Carvajal, Ramos, Hazard or Benzema to recover and help the squad.

A good result in this first leg would make Madrid’s job much easier, given that some of those players will be expected to be ready to contribute when these two teams meet in the return leg.
