Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has not recovered from his current injury just yet but should be ready to face Atletico de Madrid in next week’s crucial Madrid Derby, a game which could very well be decisive for this 2020-2021 Liga race.
Benzema has missed Madrid’s last two games with an injury he picked up in training, and while the club never published a medical report about him, it now seems that he is still questionable to play against Real Sociedad next Monday. That’d be a reasonable and cautious approach so that his odds of facing Atletico improve drastically, so Madrid will have to keep taking care of business without him if he doesn’t make it in time for Monday’s home game.
Isco Alarcon completed a solid performance as a false nine against Atalanta last Wednesday, so coach Zidane could decide to keep him in the starting lineup as long as Benzema is out.
