Toni Kroos is set to become the German player with the most appearances for Real Madrid in Monday’s match against Real Sociedad, moving ahead of Uli Stielike on the list with 309 matches played for the club.
Kroos signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2014 in what was a bargain deal for Los Blancos given that they only paid €25 million to Bayern Munich for his transfer. Not only is he the best German player to ever wear Madrid’s shirt, he also became one of the greatest midfielders in club history and an instrumental player during the 14 titles he’s won since he signed for Real Madrid.
Kroos turned 31 years old this past January and it’s safe to say that Real Madrid is the club of his life, so it would be great for both parts if he could actually retire as a Real Madrid player once he decides to end his career, something which might not happen in a long, long time considering the performances he’s still completing right now.
