Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard is not training with the rest of the squad this Monday and will almost certainly miss Tuesday’s crucial match against Atalanta in the return leg of the Champions League’s Round of 16.
The attacker had just recovered from his previous injury and made the squad list for Saturday’s match against Elche, playing the last 15 minutes of the game.
Unless Hazard was forced to miss the training session due to personal reasons —the club has not confirmed why he was absent—, it’s safe to assume that he will need to take some more time off before he can contribute on the pitch.
The attacker hasn’t stayed healthy since he signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, that being the main reason why he hasn’t lived up to the fee Madrid paid to sign him away from Chelsea.
Vinicius Junior will likely start on the left wing until Hazard is back with the team.
