Karim Benzema scored his 186th goal for Real Madrid in La Liga, moving level with Carlos Alonso Santillana and right behind Cristiano Ronaldo (312), Raul (228) and Alfredo Di Stefano (216).

This is Benzema’s 12th season in Real Madrid and it’s clear that he’s established himself as one of the best strikers to ever wear the white jersey. While he faced scrutiny and criticism from the fans and media alike during some of these years, his leadership skills, his playmaking ability and his scoring numbers after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure can’t be denied.

His contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2022 and if he keeps playing at a high level there’s a chance he moves ahead of Di Stefano in that list, especially if he remains a starter for two more seasons.

Benzema is Real Madrid’s leading scorer this season, having converted 23 goals this season, 17 of which came in La Liga.
