AC Milan and former Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez has been shining in the Italian Serie A. Theo has become one of the best full-backs in the entire competition and he talked in an interview with AS, where he discussed his tenure in Milan but also shared his thoughts about his departure from Real Madrid.
Theo was asked about why Los Blancos ended up letting him go when he’s now proven to be a quality player.
“I don’t know why, these are decisions from the club and the coach, but leaving Real Madrid was the best thing for both parts. A football player can’t prove anything without minutes and now we’re both [parts] are succeeding,” said Theo.
He also revealed that Marcelo took him under his wing and tried to help him.
“He truly helped me a lot. I am very proud of the fact that a left-back like him gave me advise and played with me. We still talk on Instagram from time to time,” revealed the defender.
Theo is now one of Brahim’s teammates. The defender explained that he’d like to keep playing with Brahim past next summer, when his loan deal with Milan expires.
“I would love to. I have a very good relationship with him, he’s an exceptional player and also a great teammate. It’d be awesome if he could stay for at least another year,” concluded Theo.
