The German Football Federation have announced that midfielder Toni Kroos has left their training camp with a muscle injury on his groin and will return to Madrid this Tuesday.
Toni Kroos is not available to the German national team for the three upcoming World Cup qualifiers on Thursday against Iceland, on Sunday in Romania and on March 31 (all from 8.45 p.m., live on RTL) against North Macedonia and will return to Spain.
The Real Madrid midfielder had already come to the national team’s quarters in Düsseldorf with adductor problems, which have proven to be so serious that they make it impossible to play.
“Our medical department has examined and treated Toni intensively. He would have liked to stay with us, and I am reluctant to do without him. With a view to the European Championship tournament in the summer, we have decided that a full recovery from this injury now has priority must, “says national coach Joachim Loew.

The extent of Kroos’ injury is unknown at the moment. The midfielder will have two weeks to rest and try to recover in time for Real Madrid’s next games, although the club will likely take a cautious approach so that he’s 100% ready to face Liverpool and Barcelona. He should be back by then.
