French striker Karim Benzema has rejoined Real Madrid’s squad in training this Friday and will almost surely be available when Los Blancos take on Atletico de Madrid in a crucial Madrid Derby next Sunday.
Benzema missed Real’s last few games with an injury which never got officially reported from the club, and while he was expected to train with his teammates earlier this week, he had to wait until Friday to do so.
Assuming that he felt 100% ready to go and that he’s able to complete Saturday’s session as well, Benzema will lead Real Madrid’s offensive line as Zidane’s men try to get an away win which would cut Atletico’s lead in the table down to two points.
Sergio Ramos, Carvajal, Eden Hazard and Mariano are still out and will not be expected to face Atletico, although some of them might recover in time to play against Atalanta in the return leg of the Champions League’s Round of 16.
