Real Madrid have published a medical report on captain Sergio Ramos, who suffers a calf injury and will need to miss around one month, meaning that he won’t be available for the upcoming UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals against Liverpool and also El Clasico against Barcelona.

Following the tests carried out today on our captain, Sergio Ramos, by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the internal calf in his left leg. His recovery will be monitored.

Ramos had just recovered from knee surgery and was ready to play. In fact, he played for Spain during this FIFA break. The defender picked up his calf injury during the break.

This is devastating news, even if Nacho Fernandez and Varane performed well without Ramos. His leadership and his presence in the center of the defensive line will surely be missed against quality teams like Liverpool and Barcelona.
