Real Madrid defender and team captain Sergio Ramos published a post on Instagram right after Los Blancos published a medical report confirming that he suffers a calf injury which will keep him out of the two crucial games against Liverpool and the upcoming El Clasico.

“Truth be told, these have been some tough weeks for me. Having surgery is always a break for us on the field but also emotionally. Luckily enough, I felt well for the last few days but bad luck also plays a part in football, just like in life. Last night, after the game, I trained on the pitch and I felt some pain on my left calf. I got it tested today and they confirmed that I have a muscle injury. Not being able to help the team in the upcoming crucial games hurts, but also not giving you back the support and love you send my way. I can’t do anything else that talking frankly, work hard and support the team with my heart and soul,” wrote Ramos.

Ramos suffered this injury in the middle of his negotiations with Real Madrid over a contract extension, with is problematic considering that he will miss a crucial stretch of games for Los Blancos after picking up the injury with the Spanish national team.
