Real Madrid have published a medical report on Lucas Vazquez announcing that the Spanish player suffers a PCL injury on his left knee which will force him to miss the remainder of the 2020-2021 season.

Vazquez’s contract with Real Madrid expires next summer and an extension is extremely unlikely, so it’s almost certain that Saturday’s El Clasico was his last match as a Real Madrid player.
Madrid are in trouble with their right-back spot now, given that Carvajal will not recover in time for the return leg against Liverpool. Odriozola will likely be the one starting in that spot, but he hasn’t been a reliable and consistent defender when given the chance to play, so it will be interesting to see if he has what it takes to play for Madrid and make a positive impact.
