Chust and Militao set to start against Getafe this Sunday

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane will almost certainly have to rely on Castilla player Victor Chust to start alongside Eder Militao when the team face Getafe this Sunday, given that Nacho —suspended—, Ramos and Varane —injured— won’t be available for the game.

It’s true that Zidane could decide to start Mendy as a center-back, deploy Marcelo on the left-back spot and Odriozola on the right, but choosing Chust seems to be the most natural choice given that starting both Odriozola and Marcelo on the flanks could be risky.

Furthermore, Casemiro is also suspended. That means that Zidane won’t have depth on the midfield. Valverde, who was questionable and had to take painkilling injections to face Liverpool on Wednesday, will likely replace Casemiro, with Isco potentially replacing either Modric or Kroos if Zidane feels like they need some rest.

Getafe have been a mediocre team so far this season but Real Madrid won’t have an easy task given the circumstances. Los Blancos are now just one point behind Atletico de Madrid in the table, so they must find a way to get the win and keep putting pressure on Simeone’s side if they want to compete for the title.
