Real Madrid have published a medical report on Ferland Mendy, who suffers a muscle injury on his left calf which will keep him out of Sunday’s match against Getafe.
Following the tests carried out today on our player Ferland Mendy by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with an overload to the soleus muscle in his left leg. His recovery will be monitored.

Mendy will likely need around a week to recover from this injury, so Marcelo will be starting on the left-back for at least the next two games —Getafe and Cadiz, both away—. Marcelo hasn’t been reliable as a defender so far this season but he should have what it takes to get the job done against those two teams.
Mendy will almost surely recover in time to face Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League’s Semifinals, but Zidane could likely be cautious with him so that he can be 100% ready to play then.
