Real Madrid Femenino drew 1-1 with Real Betis and missed another opportunity to move up to second place in Primera Iberdrola.

Real Madrid returned to action after the international break against Real Betis. Las Blancas had the opportunity to leap Levante into second place and better their position in the race for the UEFA Champions League qualification spots after both Levante and Madrid CFF dropped points this weekend.

Las Blancas dominated possession early but Real Betis were compact defensively and Real Madrid were unable to create goal-scoring opportunities. As the match progressed, the game became more transitional. Las Blancas found the most success down the left with Olga Carmona and Sofia Jakobsson running at the backline.

Real Betis also looked dangerous in transition but Ivana Andres and Maite Oroz did well to cut out their counter attacks. Betis also threatened on set-pieces. They caused Real Madrid troubles but neither team could convert in the first half.

Real Betis pressed Real Madrid high up the pitch to start the second half. Las Blancas adjusted and pushed to find the opener. Real Betis made Las Blancas pay in transition. Ivana Andres was knocked to the ground and Real Betis were able to slide the ball through to Aixa Salvador, who scored from a difficult angle to give Real Betis a 1-0 lead.

Real Betis had a chance to double their lead in the 69th minute. Misa made a diving save to keep the deficit at one.

In the 76th minute, Kosovare Asllani tried to cross to Jakobsson in the box. The cross hit a Betis hand and the referee awarded Real Madrid a penalty kick. Asllani stepped to the spot and tied the match.

Las Blancas pushed for a late winner but were unable to score.
