Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior scored a brace and led the team to a convincing 3-1 win against Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals. It was the best game of his career and allowed him to silence his critics and quite possibly establish himself as an undisputed starter at least until the end of the season.

Vinicius talked to Movistar+ after the game and discussed his performance and his feelings after such a statement.

“Outsiders talk, I keep working and that gives me the strength I need to get to the crucial games and score the goals we need. It’s great to win in the best moment of the season,” said Vinicius when asked about the criticism he gets because of his finishing.

The attacker kissed Real Madrid’s badge while celebrating his first goal.

“I work a lot, I dreamed of playing for Real Madrid and I always want to give my very best for our fans, the club and my family,” he added.

Vinicius was asked about Kroos’ brilliant assist for his opening goal.

“He’s got unbelievable class, nobody can play the way he does, I thank him for that great pass,” said the attacker.

Vinicius also said that he was extremely tired when Zidane decided to take him out of the game late in the second half.

“I was tired, 10/10 on a scale. I think it’s good to leave the game exhausted, I gave it all for this jersey,” concluded Vinicius.
