Toni Kroos in Race for Top Assists in La Liga

Toni Kroos recorded two assists in Real Madrid’s draw against Sevilla on Sunday. The German played a key role as Los Blancos fought back from falling behind twice to earn a vital point. While the draw is generally disappointing as Zidane’s men failed to capitalize on the opportunity to control their destiny, a draw earned at the death could still prove to be crucial. At the heart of both goals against Sevilla was Toni Kroos who has been the undisputed creative outlet of the team this season. His assist brace brought his tally in the league to ten for the current campaign placing him just one assist shy of Iago Aspas. When looking at assists per game, Kroos is contributing to goals at almost the same rate as the Spaniard. There are three matches left in the season to overtake the Celta Vigo player and give Real Madrid the chance to win a second league title in as many seasons.
