Real Madrid have published a medical report on left back Ferland Mendy, who will almost certainly miss the remainder of the season.
Here's Real Madrid's report.
Following tests carried out today on our player, Ferland Mendy, by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a tibial periostitis. His recovery will continue to be assessed.
With Mendy out, Marcelo will be required to play as the team's left back, but he couldn't train with the rest of the squad this Monday and remains questionable to face Granada on Thursday.
Mendy has been the undisputed starter for Real Madrid this season, so his absence will definitely make an impact, even more so considering that starting right back Dani Carvajal is also out.
Mendy came back from injury when Real Madrid faced Chelsea in the return leg of the Champions League Semifinals last week. However, he appeared to lack conditioning something which probably led to this injury.
