A new-look Real Madrid side travelled to Granada with the hopes of keeping their title race alive and a comfortable 4-1 victory sees them close in on leaders Atlético Madrid.
See full player ratings below.
Thibaut Courtois — 7: Will be upset not to keep the clean sheet but did well to keep Madrid from conceding any other goals. Finished with four saves and one claim. Another strong performance.
Marvin Park — 6.75: A surprise start for the club with so many injuries but did fairly well over the amount for time he was on the pitch. Picked up a slight injury but hopefully, it’s nothing too worrying. Not his usual position either but he did well. Finished with an assist, one shot, 90 per cent pass completion rate, one key pass, and one aerial won. Subbed after 45 minutes.
Eder Militão — 7: Another strong outing from the defender in the absence of Sergio Ramos. Looks to be more comfortable as time moves on. Good positioning as well. Finished with 91 per cent pass completion rate, three aerial duels won and two tackles.
Nacho — 7: Like Militão had a strong performance tonight. Managed to partner with the Brazilian and keep the opponent’s scoreline low. Also wasn’t afraid to move up on the pitch. Finished with one shot, 90 per cent possession rate, one key pass, and two aerials won.
Miguel Gutiérrez — 7.5: Earned his first start and what a night it was for him! Assisted Modric’s opener and played the entire match. Finished with two aerials won and two key passes. Big influence on the night.
Casemiro — 7.5: Workhorse performance from Casemiro but what else is new? Finished with three aerials won and two tackles but a low pass completion rate (77). Lucky not to get another yellow card to his sheet.
Fede Valverde — 8.25: A very strong performance for Valverde. Managed to have a big impact in the midfield and looks to be inching back to his best. Finished with one shot, 94 per cent pass completion rate, two dribbles, four key passes and three tackles. Subbed after 62 minutes.
Luka Modric — 9: Once again leads Madrid to victory. Is there anything his midfielder can’t do? No. The answer is no. Great opener and worked to push Madrid forward all night playing the entire match. Finished with one shot, 90 per cent pass completion rate, three key passes, one dribble, two aerials won, three tackles.
Rodrygo — 7.5: Another player to earn a rare start but proved worthy. Made a claim to earn more starts in the future with his performance as well. Scored the second for the team. Finished with three shots, one dribble and one tackle. Subbed after 62 minutes.
Karim Benzema — 8: Was the veteran up top for the club and kept the line moving. Finally got back to scoring ways with his quick instincts. Scored the fourth goal to cement the victory. Finished with four shots, two key passes and one tackle. Subbed after 77 minutes.
Vini Jr. — 6: The most disappointing attacker of the night but still had a decent cameo. Say the same things every week, needs to be better with his finishing and/or be more active in the build-up. Only had 16 touches on the pith. Substituted after 62 minutes.
Substitutes:
Alvaro Odriozola — 7: Came on as a substitute for Marvin Park and made himself known. Finished with a goal, one shot, 96 per cent pass completion rate, dribble, one tackle. Still questionable that he didn’t get the start, though.
Marco Asensio — 6.25: Didn’t have the most impactful performance like he did the last outing after coming on for Rodrygo. Finished with just one shot.
Isco — 7: Came on after 62 minutes for Valverde and had a decent outing. Finished with one dribble and 95 per cent pass completion. Nice to see him back on the pitch for a decent amount of time.
Eden Hazard — 7.25: Came on with about 15 minutes to play and made his mark. Assisted Odriozola’s goal and linked up with his fellow attackers well. Finished with 91 per cent pass completion, one dribble and on key pass.
Mariano — 5.5: Came on for Benzema but couldn’t get in on the action too much.
