Real Madrid have announced on their official website that midfielder Toni Kroos is currently in isolation due to Covid-19 protocol. Here’s Real Madrid’s statement.
Real Madrid C. F. reports that our player Toni Kroos is currently in isolation after being in contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, although all tests carried out on the player have come back negative.
While it’s good to know that Kroos’ tests have come back negative so far, it’s unlikely that he will be available against Athletic Bilbao this weekend. The midfielder got some rest when Madrid faced Granada this Thursday, so coach Zinedine Zidane probably expected Kroos to be 100% ready to play against Athletic.
Real Madrid have only two games left in their schedule, so it will be interesting to see if Kroos is actually able to help the team or not. If he is not, Madrid will just simply have to find their way through without the German midfielder.
