Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez talked to Movistar+ after the team’s 0-1 win against Athletic Bilbao, one which almost gave Madrid the lead in La Liga table until Atletico managed to come back against Osasuna and score two goals in 10 minutes to secure the three points.

“Our goal was to win our game and that they would drop points, but there’s still a game to go and we have a chance. They managed to win at the end and that means it’s not easy,” said Nacho when asked about the race for the title.

The defender then talked about the reports suggesting that coach Zinedine Zidane had told the players that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

“There have been some reports saying that he told us he’s leaving. He hasn’t told us anything, I don’t know, he’s under contract and is fine with us, but this is a decision for him and the club,” he said.

Nacho concluded his interview by discussing the tough 0-1 win against Athletic.

“They’re definitely a tough team and maybe we struggled a bit creating, but we played well, solid and managed to win,” concluded the defender.
