Belgium coach Roberto Martinez talked to the press this Monday and answered some questions about Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard, who has spent most of the 2020-2021 season injured but is now fit and ready to make an impact for his country in the upcoming UEFA Euro.

“We’ve been very close and we know exactly where he is in terms of his conditioning. I think he’s in the best medical situation he’s been in quite a while and his fitness level is really satisfactory,” said Martinez when asked about Hazard’s condition.

Martinez then went on and explained why Hazard is such an important player for Belgium.

“From that point on, we always consider how important Eden Hazard is for our national team, he’s our captain and the way he performs in our environment is essential and vital, so it’s important that he finishes the season strongly with Real Madrid and here we’re delighted that the last few weeks he looked like a player who could be back at his very best,” concluded Martinez.

Real Madrid will be hoping that Hazard completes an impressive Euro with Belgium so that he can not only regain his confidence but also increase his potential value in the transfer market in case the club decides to part ways with him next summer.
