The 2020-2021 season has ended and Real Madrid will have a very busy summer building the squad for next year. One of the most important decisions has to do with Sergio Ramos’ future. The current contract of the defender and club legend expires this summer and a report from ABC indicates that Real Madrid believe that he’s going to leave the club.
Los Blancos will not improve the offer they made months ago, one which was rejected by Ramos. Madrid offered him a single-year extension with a 10% decrease in his salary and the defender apparently wanted at least two more years.
According to that same report, Ramos wants to play for Spain in both the upcoming Olympic Games and the UEFA Euro, something Real Madrid do not approve considering that he missed most of the last third of the season with injuries and that he’s already 35 years old.
However, Real Madrid’s feelings about Ramos’ intentions will not matter if the defender doesn’t accept the club’s offer to extend his contract.
Ramos is free to sign for any club and apparently PSG are interested in his signing. As things stand right now, Sergio Ramos might have played his last game for Real Madrid in what has been an illustrious career for the club.
