Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio shared some thoughts about the 2020-2021 season on his Social Media. Asensio was coming off a devastating ACL tear and this was his first full season after having surgery to repair his knee, even though he was able to play some games during the final stretch of the 2019-2020 season.
It has been a tough season, in which, in spite of the obstacles, we made a great team effort, fighting to win until the end. For me, personally, it has been a year of great learning, overcoming pain and situations that have made me much stronger and helped me to grow as a player.
Now it is time to stop and face the next season with all the world’s strength to give my best. Thank you Madridistas for your support. Next season will be easier with you closer to us. #HalaMadrid

Fans were hoping that Asensio would be more productive this season, yet he only scored 7 goals and delivered 2 assists in 2,600 minutes played. It’s certainly true that he lacked confidence during many games, but Asensio will be hoping to turn things around and be one of the leaders of Real Madrid’s offensive line now that he is totally healthy to contribute.
