Real Madrid midfielder has finally tested negative for Covid-19 and will be available when Los Blancos face Chelsea in the return leg of the Champions League Semifinals this Wednesday.

Valverde had spent the last few weeks away from the team and his return is massive for Real Madrid. His physical presence was sorely missed in the first leg and he could even be deployed as a right-back, which would allow Nacho to play on the left side of the defensive line if coach Zidane feels Mendy isn’t ready enough to start the game.

Keep in mind that Valverde will likely lack some conditioning after recovering from Covid-19, so his presence in the starting XI seems unlikely. However, if he can make an impact off the bench and give Madrid a boost, Los Blancos will have a lot more depth in this crucial game and also in Sunday’s clash against Sevilla in La Liga.
