Eden Hazard has broken his silence after a media storm of negative press following his cheerful moment with former Chelsea teammates. The Belgian winger was caught laughing and smiling on camera, joking with old friends, after Real Madrid’s elimination. Many — including club officials, fans, and media outlets, were outraged at Hazard’s behavior. El Chiringuito has gone viral for their dramatic vilification of the Real Madrid #7. Chiringuito’s host, Josep Pederol, has publicly stated that Eden Hazard, “should not spend a second more at Real Madrid”. While others have voiced the opinion that Hazard “does not understand the weight or value of the Real Madrid shirt”.

On his official Instagram account, Hazard released the following message via his story:

“I am sorry. I have read lots of opinions about me today and it was not my intention to offend the Real Madrid fans. It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win. The season is not over and together we must now battle for La Liga! Hala Madrid!”

Eden Hazard has his first chance to right the wrongs with a quality performance vs Sevilla in the La Liga title race run-in on Sunday.
