It’s official. Real Madrid have signed Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti as their manager for the next three seasons, the club announced on their official website.

Ancelotti returns to the club after spending the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons with the club, where he led Real Madrid to their 10th Champions League title, a FIFA Club World Cup and a Copa del Rey.

The Italian coach will face a very different challenge this time around though, as Real Madrid can’t rely on players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos or Luka Modrić at their peak anymore, so it will be interesting to see if Ancelotti trusts Madrid’s youngsters during his tenure.

Carletto will have some intriguing decisions ahead of him. Will he keep Ødegaard and Brahim around? Where will he play new signing David Alaba? Could Bale or Isco have another chance to play for Madrid now that their former coach Ancelotti is around?

The answers to those questions will be revealed over the next few weeks.
