Five Real Madrid Femenino players have been called up to the Spanish National Team for two friendly games vs. Belgium and Denmark. Misa Rodríguez, Olga Carmona, Ivana Andrés, Maite Oroz, and Marta Cardona are the ones that have been selected.

Spain are one of the favorites to go all the way in the 2022 Euros and dominated Group D, winning seven in eight games to top the table with 22 points.

These friendlies will give coach Jorge Vilda a good opportunity to rotate, try out reserve formations (he’s gone with a back three of late), and assess players that normally wouldn’t get a shot a starting, should he choose to do so.

Marta Cardona is the one Real Madrid player that has gotten regular minutes for the national team, proving to be a natural fit as an ultra-attacking “wing-back” down the right. Expect fireworks (and a bunch of wasted assists) should she feature.
