Real Madrid are looking to play at the Bernabeu at some point next season, according to a report from MARCA.
The report reveals that Los Blancos do not want to rush a move back the Bernabeu, but are looking at potentially returning to their home stadium to accommodate fans between September and October.
MARCA says that between 20,000 to 30,000 fans could be allowed back in capacity next season, which rules out the possibility of the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano continually hosting home matches. Real have been at the Castilla ground since the beginning of the pandemic last year.
The report also states that Real Madrid have considered hosting several matches at the Wanda Metropolitano in order to allow the increased capacity of supporters. Real has reportedly also inquired with LaLiga about playing as many away fixtures as possible after the season starts around August 13.
While the Bernabeu construction project was originally set to be completed in 2022 it appears that the club believes they will at least be able to accommodate fans towards the fall, which would be quite an accomplishment for such a large-scale expansion.
