Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos talked to the press ahead of the upcoming UEFA Euro 2021 and was asked about Sergio Ramos’ future with the club. Ramos still hasn’t signed a contract extension with Madrid and it looks like he could be on his way out, although the latest reports suggest that he’d now be willing to accept a single-year extension.
“We don’t even have to talk about the importance of Ramos for Real Madrid. I don’t know how the thing is going with the club. He’s got 20 more days on his contract and I can only say that I enjoyed a lot playing with him and that I hope to play more years with him,” said Kroos.
When asked about Ramos’ leadership skills, Kroos was clear.
“He’s always been a great teammate and a great captain, he’s been the great captain I’ve had in my career,” he added.
Kroos will try to lead Germany to another Euro title, given that they’re one of the favorites to conquer the tournament.
