Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe talked about his future in an interview with French magazine France Football. Mbappe, whose contract with PSG expires in the summer of 2022, is rumored to be Real Madrid’s main target not only for this transfer window but also for the next one if PSG are not willing to sell the player.
“I have to make the right decision and it is difficult. I must give myself every opportunity to make a good decision. I am in a place that I like, where I feel good, but is this the best place for me? I still don’t have the answer,” said Mbappe, potentially suggesting that he is keen on a move away from PSG.
Real Madrid fans will be encouraged by those words, but Mbappe then went on and said that he will not betray his current club.
“PSG understand my requests because they know that I am not going to make any treacherous move. Being a great player is also knowing how to do things in a clean and classy way off the field,” he explained.
That likely means that Mbappe will not force his way out or demand a transfer, and it probably means that he wants the two clubs to reach an agreement so that he doesn’t have to leave PSG as a free agent next summer.
As things stand right now, it looks like Real Madrid will have to wait until PSG are willing to negotiate Mbappe’s transfer.
