Real Madrid legend and current club ambassador Roberto Carlos spoke with French magazine Onze Mondial about Sergio Ramos’ contract situation this summer.
“He [Ramos] is currently recovering from an injury.”
“I am very sure that there will be a conversation between Sergio and the president to reach an agreement. Sergio is the face of the club, a great player and we’ll see what happens.”
The current Real Madrid captain’s contract is set to expire at the end of this month on June 30. It’s very important that the club gets their leader extended since he means so much to the club’s legacy and current form.
Ramos did miss a good amount of time due to injury this past season, but the 35-year-old still has quality to offer. His contract renewal is one of the biggest issues the club faces in addressing this summer.
Carlos also took time in the interview to address two reported Real Madrid targets in Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe. He also talked about his satisfaction of Carlo Ancelotti re-joining as Real Madrid manager ahead of next season.
