Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has scheduled a press conference at Valdebebas for Thursday, according to a report from MARCA’s Jose Felix Diaz. The defender will discuss his future as his current contract with the club expires in just two weeks. Whether he will announce his extension or his departure remains to be reported, although it seems fairly safe to assume that the club would likely publish an official statement first if the two parts had reached an agreement.

Josep Pedrerol for El Chiringuito reported this Wednesday, right after Ramos decided to schedule his pres conference, that the defender will leave the club.

Ramos, who is 35 years old, has been negotiating a contract extension with Madrid for the last few months. The club wanted him to take a single-year extension and he kept demanding an extra season, that being the main reason why the two sides have not reached an agreement yet.

The defender will likely explain his own version of the story tomorrow, so it will definitely be interesting to hear what he has to say. Stay tuned for more news.
