This was the inevitable rumour, and we recognize that, but: Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly asked Real Madrid about the possibility of acquiring James Rodriguez from Everton.
This one is virtually too easy to write, but is worth reporting here for one reason alone: It comes for a reputable source in Colombia, Gol Caracol, who are very well connected with Colombian players and coaches, and are reliable when it comes to this stuff.
Still, it’s hard to fathom any deal like this taking place, and the furthest this went was probably a conversation that was short-lived. It’s no secret Carlo Ancelotti loves James Rodriguez and vice versa. The Italian manager has made use of the Colombian playmaker at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Everton, and now reportedly at Real Madrid again.
But Real Madrid are also tight on cash, and already have three players that could potentially play the ‘10’ role in Isco, Martin Odegaard, and Brahim Diaz. It’s hard to see James join the club again.
