Real Madrid defender Eder Militao discussed Sergio Ramos’ departure from Real Madrid during a press conference with the Brazilian national team. Although Militao could be the biggest beneficiary now that Ramos is gone, he praised the legend and explained why he was so important.
“It’s a pity that Ramos left Real Madrid. I say it because inside our dressing room he was amazing. We all know the history he made and what he achieved during his years at Real Madrid. I don’t have words to describe how important he was,” said Militao.
The Brazilian center-back also explained that he learned many things from Ramos these two years.
“All that I learned from him these two years... He’s just an amazing person, he has a winning mentatility. He’s surely a club legend and also a legend for those who like football. I wish him good luck and happiness wherever he goes,” added the defender.
On paper, Militao could very well be a starting center-back for Real Madrid next season, given that Raphael Varane is also expected to leave. The Brazilian defender definitely proved his worth during the last third of the 2020-2021 season and he will now want to keep showing his worth under new coach Carlo Ancelotti.
