Hello Madridistas! The Open Thread/Daily Merengue is a place where you can discuss anything and everything related to football. Feel free to discuss the topics presented here, or start your very own discussions! The Open thread will be posted every day by one of the mods you would absolutely treat to drinks: Valyrian Steel, Felipejack, YoSnail, Ezek Ix or yours truly.

DID. YOU. SEE. THAT.

Goodness gracious me...He’s done it again. Luka Modric played a great game against Scotland yesterday, scoring a goal and also registering an assist to help seal his country’s progression to the knockout phase. And what a goal that was! Have you seen it? Never mind, go watch it again! And again and again! You don’t get to see that everyday.

The croatian wizard was basically Gandalf.

Transfer Stuff

  • Curious about El Capitan’s future?

  • Brahim seems uncertain about his future. Probably less certain than the rest of us seem to be at this point.

  • Mbappe has reportedly asked to leave PSG. Both Marca and AS have articles reporting this. Weird timing, given that PSG are strengthening their squad and look very much like a winning project in progress. Yet, this might give Los Blancos some hope about their No 1 target.

Another good day for football fans

We get to watch four matches on this day.

  • Sweden VS Poland
  • Slovakia VS Spain
  • Portugal VS France
  • Germany VS Hungary

All of these are important matches and especially the difficulty of the Group of Death games is through the roof.

So, what’s tonight’s prediction?

Let us know which match you will be watching. Have fun and may the madridismo be with you all.
