Hello Madridistas! The Open Thread/Daily Merengue is a place where you can discuss anything and everything related to football. Feel free to discuss the topics presented here, or start your very own discussions! The Open thread will be posted every day by one of the mods you would totally sit, drink and watch the EUROs with: Valyrian Steel, Felipejack, YoSnail, Ezek Ix or yours truly.
It was an intense day of football alright
Well, except maybe for the last minutes of the Portugal-France game. The previous matchday though, was full of important matches, some of which determined teams’ progression near the full time whistle, like for example, the Sweden - Poland match!
By the way...
Former Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has officially tied Ali Daei’s record
That’s right. Our beloved legend Cristiano, stroke twice from the penalty spot (of which one was won by the man himself) to take his tally for NT to 109 goals. This is the highest amount of goals scored by a player for their National Team, but he is level with Ali Daei, although CR7 will get a chance to add to that.

Time to catch a break (from the EUROs at least)
There won’t be any Euro games for a couple of days, as the next two are played on Saturday. I’m referring to:
- Wales VS Denmark
- Italy VS Austria
Till then, you get to watch Copa America!!! For example, very early today, there’s the match between Casemiro’s Brazil and Columbia!
Know what time it is?
No Griezmann, it’s not Time to Duel. It’s ...* in sinister voice * time to play a game answer a poll:
