Real Madrid announced today that the club has renewed David Aznar’s contract until 2022. Aznar began coaching CD Tacon in 2018 and has coached this team through its transition from CD Tacon to Real Madrid Femenino.

Aznar has led Las Blancas to a historic first offical season as Real Madrid Femenino. Las Blancas have one match remaining in the season but have already secured a second-place finish and qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification stages.

Real Madrid Femenino have won 23 of their 33 matches played and have drawn four and lost six. Las Blancas will conclude their season tomorrow at 5:00 am (EST) at the Ciudad Real Madrid against UD Granadilla Tenerife.

Aznar is the first contract renewal of what is soon to be the offseason. It is expected that many more contract extensions and renewals will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

There are also expected to be some big names leaving the club with new signings expected as well.
