Real Madrid announced today that the club has renewed the contract of Kosovare Asllani. There were rumors all season that the Swedish superstar would be on her way out of Madrid but in the last few days, it seems as though discussions took a turn.
Now Asllani will stay with Las Blancas for at least one more season and will lead the team in their quest to progress through the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification rounds. Asllani was just announced as the Mahou Five Star Player of the Season, after tallying 16 goals and one assist for Las Blancas.
Asllani penned a message on Twitter to Madridistas in the wake of her renewal:
“The journey continues. Madridistas, you make me feel loved. Historia que tú hisciste, historia por hacer. #HalaMadrid.”
