Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard talked to Belgian TV station RTBF about the upcoming UEFA Euro, but he was also asked about new coach Carlo Ancelotti, who will replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid next season. Hazard believes that Ancelotti’s signing could be good for him.
“Everyone in Madrid knows what Ancelotti gave the club in the past. He won the Champions League with this group and knows many players. We know he is a very experienced coach and he knows the city and the fanbase. I think we can achieve great things together,” said Hazard.
Ancelotti and Hazard have not worked together but the attacker said that he’s heard the Italian coach is “a very friendly person who just wants to win.” “That’s what we all want, we will have the chance to work together, it’s good for me,” he added.
Hazard could be on Madrid’s transfer block this summer but it’s extremely unlikely that other clubs are interested in his signing. The player believes that he can turn things around.
“We all know that my first years there were bad. Now I have to think about the Euro and then be in perfect condition for next year,” said Hazard.
The attacker also had some words about Zinedine Zidane, who left the club this week.
“Being close to him every day as coach of Real Madrid was the best. There’s nothing better than being coached by your idol,” concluded Hazard.
