Squad List

GK: Misa, Yohana, Sara Ezquerro

DEF: Kenti Robles, Babett Peter, Samara Ortíz Cruz, Ivana Andrés, Marta Corredera, Claudia Florentino

MID: Thaisa, Aurélie Kaci, Maite Oroz, Teresa Abelleira

FWD: Olga Carmona, Kosovare Asllani, Sofia Jakobsson, Marta Cardona, Lorena Navarro, Jessica Martínez

Absences: Daiane (injury), Malena Ortíz Cruz (injury), Chioma Ubogagu, Ariana Arias (often called up from the youth ranks).

The club issued a sort of public statement through Real Madrid TV commentator Arancha Rodríguez on why Chioma has been left out of the squad:

Translation: Chioma’s absence from Real Madrid Femenino’s squad is due to indiscipline. A repeated problem since her arrival at the Club.

An AS article published today provides more details:

Translation: As AS has learned, the footballer [Chioma] has had inappropriate behavior during this season, disappearing without permission from the club for a certain time. This occurred a few weeks ago, when Real Madrid gave the player permission to travel to her country on her days off to attend a family engagement.

The problem then lay in the fact that Ubogagu left early, failing to fulfill her obligations to Real Madrid. This could be subject to sanction and is being considered by Real Madrid, which has not thought about a future with the English footballer for a long time. In short, Ubogagu would be out of Real Madrid.
