Former Real Madrid Castilla starlet, Fran Garcia, has been awarded the “Mahou Cinco Estrellas - Player of the Season Award” for his exploits on loan with Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish Segunda division.

The 21-year-old has played 40 matches (38 starts) for Rayo this season, primarily playing at his customary left full back position. He has contributed with 2 goals and 3 assists in the current campaign.
Rayo Vallecano take on Leganes tomorrow evening in the 2nd leg of their semi-final playoff match up. Rayo take a 3-0 first leg lead into the play off and are looking to progress into the next round in a bid to secure a promotion spot to La Liga next season.
It is unclear of what the future holds for Fran Garcia, but if Rayo Vallecano manage to get promoted to La Liga, then another year on loan - this time in the top flight - may be the most logical choice. Fran Garcia has found a good home at Rayo Vallecano and if he continues to develop, he could find his way back at Real Madrid or sold to a next-level La Liga club.
