Marco Asensio: I am staying!!

Marco Asensio spoke to Diario AS ahead of Spain’s trip to the 2020 Olympic Games and claims he is 100% fit for the tournament. He also confirmed he has no interest in leaving the club this summer and will remain with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

”For the next season, I’m staying at Real Madrid for sure. I will live up to what Ancelotti expects of me.”

FC Barcelona’s youth team captain joins Real Madrid Castilla.

As reported by Sam Sharpe Real Madrid have completed the signing of Barcelona under-19s captain Jaume Jardí. The player comes as a free transfer and will most likely slot straight into the Castilla squad.

Real Madrid defeat Fuenlabrada in the first match of pre-season.

Real Madrid concluded their first week of pre-season with a friendly behind closed doors against second division side Fuenlabrada. The match was held at Valdebebas, in conditions that reached close to 40 degrees Celsius, and Los Blancos won 3-1.

Fuenlabrada played a defensive style, but Real Madrid were able to secure victory with goals from Victor Chust, Martin Odegaard and Mariano.

Next Real Madrid and Rangers FC will lock horns in a friendly encounter on Sunday 25 July. The match, which is to be played at Glasgow’s Ibrox Stadium, will kick off at 7pm (CET) and see Carlo Ancelotti’s charges pit their wits against the defending Scottish Premiership champions.

Real Madrid Femenino have been making moves.

The women’s team have now made 5 signings to strengthen their squad with the latest being French goalkeeper Méline Gerard from Real Betis. It is still expected that 21-year-old Zamora winner Misa Rodríguez will keep her place as a starter though Méline will add a veteran presence to the keeper lineup. They’ve also signed Esther González, Lucía Rodríguez, Claudia Zornoza and Nahikari García. Om Arvind has been reporting on all the signings and it seems the team is not quite done yet as they go about trying to dethrone Barcelona. Keep an eye on his updates.
