Carlo Ancelotti may have the opportunity to utilize some of the internationals in this match. Most of the players who participated in the European Championships, are expected to return on August 5th. The match will be between two historic clubs and two clubs who have maintained very strong ties over the last several decades.
Several Real Madrid players have been linked with a move to AC Milan. Brahim Diaz may be an AC Milan player by the time this match is played with many reports suggesting that a loan with an option to buy has been finalized. Real Madrid would then hold a re-purchase option over the player. Other players linked, have included Luka Jovic and Alvaro Odriozola. The latter, may be contacted if a deal for Diogo Dalot cannot be completed.
The friendly will give club executives an opportunity to meet and discuss the future of many players. The match itself will be played under the slogan #AthletesVersusCup as part of the battle against discrimination and racism.
