Real Madrid wonder kid Takefusa Kubo could be on his way to Real Sociedad on a season-long loan deal. Diario AS reported this week that the Basque side were interested in the Japanese playmaker and today local newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa said that Real Sociedad have been in touch with Kubo’s camp, with the player being keen on such a move.

Kubo will represent his country in the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games, so it’s unlikely that this potential deal becomes official before the end of the football tournament. Still, it looks like Kubo will play for Real Sociedad next season.

The 2020-2021 campaign was a difficult one for the young playmaker, who struggled getting minutes for Villarreal during the first half of the season, then moved to Getafe only to keep struggling there. In Real Sociedad, Kubo will try to establish himself as an undisputed starter before he can consider fighting for a spot in Real Madrid.
