Alvaro Odriozola is not part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and could go to AC Milan on loan with an option to buy, according to Spanish radio’s Onda Cero.
Stefano Pioli had two right backs under his disposal last season: Davide Calabria and Diogo Dalot. The former was the preferred starter and a product of AC Milan’s youth academy. The latter was on loan from Manchester United. Milan’s priority would be to work on Dalot’s return on loan, this year including an option to buy. According to Italian journalist, Nicolo Schira, United and Milan are in talks and are working towards an agreement. Everton are also rumored to be interested in Dalot and could price-out Milan.
If a deal does not materialize for Diogo Dalot, then Alvaro Odriozola would become a priority for the Italian club. Dani Carvajal has returned to full fitness and Lucas Vazquez has proven himself in the right back position. There is no room for Odriozola as a third choice right back given his salary. If Milan came calling, Madrid would be flexible in their negotiations in order to help facilitate the Basque player’s exit.
