Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale isn’t going anywhere this summer. The club tried to move him in order to get rid of his contract but Bale has decided to stay and see out his deal, which expires in the summer of 2022. That’s what a report from Diario AS published today is suggesting, and while Madrid might still try to receive good offers for him this summer, Bale’s presence in the roster seems to be all but certain.
Bale is 32 years old and no big clubs seem to be interested in taking his contract, so Madrid’s hands are tied. The attacker isn’t going to accept a smaller contract elsewhere and he believes that he could play some relevant minutes for Madrid now that Zinedine Zidane is gone, so new coach Carlo Ancelotti will have some interesting decisions to make.
The Welshman wants to play the 2022 FIFA World Cup and then he will think about his future, with the American Major League Soccer as a likely destination for him, per that same report from AS.
