Rennes youngster Eduardo Camavinga reportedly prefers a move to Spain should the Ligue 1 club decide to sell him this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Samuel Luckhurst writes that despite interest from Manchester United the 18-year-old midfielder favors a move to La Liga instead. He also states that United have held preliminary discussions with the player’s representatives, but they have so far reportedly been ‘not encouraging.’
The report reads that Rennes are encouraged to sell him before the closing of this summer transfer window as Camavinga is entering the final term of his current contract, which is set to expire in 2022.
Ligue 1 clubs also reportedly feel financially stressed to sell players this summer as an over €780 million annual television rights deal with Spanish media communications outlet Mediapro has fallen through.
We’ve seen Camavinga linked with Real Madrid since last season with no indication of what a true asking price would be for his sale. Real have only truly signed David Alaba during this current transfer period with no signs that the club is imminently completing more signings.
