Raphael Varane, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale rejoined Real Madrid’s squad in training this Friday afternoon after testing negative for Covid-19. Karim Benzema should’ve been with them but tested positive during the pre-season medicals and will be isolated for the next few weeks.
Varane will honor his contract with the club and will keep training with his teammates until Manchester United and Real Madrid reach an agreement for his transfer. If they don’t, he will also stay in the club while Madrid keep trying to extend his contract, which expires in 2022.
Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard, Fede Valverde, Eder Militao and Casemiro are still on vacation after reaching later stages of the UEFA Euro and the 2021 Copa America, so coach Carlo Ancelotti will have to work without them for the next few weeks and then try to get them involved and ready before the 2021-2022 season kicks off in August.
