Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric talked to the club’s TV channel in a brief interview where he shared his feelings about rejoining the squad in training. This will be Modric’s 10th season with Real Madrid, an impressive milestone for a foreign player.
“I’m still very excited, almost as much as I was during my first day in Real Madrid. I’m happy about seeing my teammates again and I’m looking forward to working and getting ready to help the team do a good job,” said the midfielder.
Carlo Ancelotti is back coaching the team and he is arguably one of Modric’s most important coaches.
“It’s great to have Ancelotti back after a few years, I’m very happy. He’s a great coach who had a lot of success during his first tenure here and I hope that he can have as much success now that he’s back,” explained Modric.
The midfielder won’t be available when Madrid take on Glasgow Rangers in what will be the team’s first official pre-season game, but he should be ready for the next friendly as soon as he keeps completing training sessions and improving his form and conditioning.
