Real Madrid are set to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United for around €50 million in the near future. With the sale going through Real could reportedly turn their attention back towards PSG and Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to MARCA.
The report says that no further signings are expected from Real Madrid during this summer transfer window with the exception of a possible Mbappe transfer, which will take some incredible efforts to advance further.
MARCA claims an additional key in this pursuit was the shedding of Sergio Ramos’ €15 million salary. Real have only added David Alaba on a free transfer this summer as a backup plan and are relying on homegrown, youth system talent as fourth options.
The report also claims that Los Blancos are in strong financial health as they profited around €874,000 last year, despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic throughout the season.
MARCA recognizes that it will be a difficult task to pry Mbappe away from PSG. Their reported asking price has reportedly been around €180 million, which is assuming the Parisians are even interested in selling. Mbappe’s contract is set to expire in 2022 with no renewal signed yet.
There’s obviously nothing concrete here as of yet as the report alludes to. There has not been any reported talks between Real Madrid and PSG for the sale of Mbappe. And there’s no indication that a deal will be made this summer before the transfer window closes on August 31.
